Ken Flechler is currently the Vice President of Pike Enterprises, Inc. His responsibilities include employee safety, operational compliance, sustainability, government and international affairs, corporate development and charitable giving. Flechler joined Pike Electric Corporation in 2009 as the Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety. While in the position, he led the transformation of the safety program to Best in Class status, which included a 70 percent reduction in the OSHA recordable rate. He has also represented Pike at safety and international development throughout the world, including the World Safety Summit in Istanbul, the EU-US Conference on Health and Safety at Work in Brussels, the U.S. Government Energy Trade Mission to Africa, and the African Growth and Opportunity Act Forum at the U.S. State Department.
Prior to his current position at Pike, Flechler was Chief Consulting Officer at SKP International, Inc. and worked with Fortune 100 companies globally on safety, compliance and ethics issues. From 1998 to 2007, he was Vice President of Safety and Compliance for Comcast. Under his direction, the company achieved significant reductions in employee injury and vehicle accident rates. He led Comcast through the EPA Audit Program, developed the company's Environmental Management Program and managed the environmental remediation program for over 70 acquisitions.
Flechler has worked with federal and state regulators and legislatures on proposed rulemaking and legislation. On June 19, 2013, Governor Haley appointed him to the South Carolina Energy Advisory Committee to serve as her representative on the committee. He also serves as an Outreach Ambassador for Armed Forces Motor Sports.
A Bellarmine University graduate, Flechler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional, Certified Utility Safety Administrator and Certified Utility Safety Professional.
